MAN FAN LAA - meaning “Where am I?” in Wolof - is the question raised by six young Senegalese brothers. It is a call of hope toward a better future or an exploration of how Senegalese youth project themselves toward a fairer future, despite the harsh realities of everyday life. It evokes the pain of separation from loved ones, the uprooting involved in leaving the land of origin, as well as the courage and pride of experiencing freedom.

Between introspection and encounters with others, the performers draw on their cultural heritage in an attempt to find answers to their questions. By returning to the core of their personal and collective histories, they transform everyday objects into multiple circus apparatuses (basins, rice bags, etc.), diving deep into their roots and sometimes reaching a state close to trance.
